Middlebury Radio Theater of Thrills and Suspense
Ladies and Gentlemen of Radio Land:
Tune in this week, Satuday at 7:30 pm, for another Evening of Suspense! This week’s show: THE GREEN HORNET: THE CORPSE THAT WASN’T THERE! A rousing tale of Britt Reid and Kato’s tussles with the criminal underworld, first broadcast April 18, 1943, and brought to you live on 91.1 WRMC FM. Listen as The Green Hornet saves the day!

Last night’s show was a tour de force! With only a few hours preparation and a slipshod final read through, we went on air, and providence looked kindly upon us. The first half hour of music was a flop as we ran into technical difficulties, but after nearly peeing my pants and hurling insults at the radio station staff, we were off! Congratulations to our spectacular cast.
The next show will be hitting the airwaves next Saturday at 7:30. Mr. Fulchino will send out the script soon (post suggestions in the comments of this post) and we’ll start picking the cast early in the week.
Yours affably,
~ Adam Irish

Below is the cast and crew of our first production:
~> A veritable psycho by the end of the performance. Brilliant.
~> Bobby’s nickname henceforth is simply “lama” — Competition for the Dalai. Awesome. I’d say the strongest character in the show.
~> The happy-go-lucky tragedy. A scream forever engraved in my memory.
~> Derek’s nickname henceforth is “Nahsong” — Sir Edmund Hillary might mistake you for his loyal sherpa, Tenzing Norgay. A tear-jerking death scene that will be impossible to match.
~> Andy’s nickname henceforth is “Frankie” — She knew they were doomed. The fear in your voice is palpable, perfect.
~> Scott’s nickname henceforth is “Yeti” — I would have enjoyed your moans more if I didn’t have to hear them every night. Terrifying.
~> Avery’s nickname henceforth is “cornflakes” — Never have I heard cornflakes sound so much like snow. Some fancy footwork too. Superb.
~> Nick wrote up the great segment on 1953 Middlebury and national news. Bravo, sir.
~> Christopher’s nickname henceforth is “the man” or “our savior” — Christopher is incredible. In so little time he was able to gather and apply the right music and sound effects to create an authentic and pretty darn good radio drama. Without him, we would have been screwed. Christopher is also the man responsible for getting the show and Podcast online. Hurrah for Christopher! To him, we are forever indebted.
And finally (and most importantly):
Only Adam could take a half-dozen people who have never done radio drama before to an unfamilier studio still in disarray from re-modeling, and perform a truely broadcast worthy production with only a few hours work. Bravo.
Here is the script for our first episode:
Ok,
The podcast is up and casting, however, until Apple approves our program, it will not be available from within iTunes Music Store. Never fear, however, there is an easy way to get our podcast to your iTunes.

Then open up iTunes, click on Advanced>Subscribe to a Podcast. Once the box pops up, copy the URL into the window (Ctrl + V), and click Ok.
Congratulations, iTunes will update, and you will begin recieving our show. Remeber to updat weekly, and check back ocassionally for other special tidbits.
We aired our first show tonight. The show was The Abomidable Snowman from the radio series Escape.
It went excellently, especially as we had never used the big studio before, and the studio was still in somewhat of a disarray from the remodel.
No sooner did we finish than we started getting phone calls of congratulations (from our best friends — the only people we could con into listening on the Saturday of Winter Carnival).
We are going to be Podcasting the show. To download an mp3 of the first episode, click on the post below.
