Coming Next Month: Mr|Tots Season 3.5!

On an as-yet undetermined Saturday in February, the Middlebury Radio Theater of Thrills and Suspense will begin broadcasting its exciting Season 3.5. Over the course of the next few months, we’ll be presenting a wide variety of original pieces, including new installments of Nazi Hunters, the exciting new series New Tales From Kafka City, and the much-anticipated Time Presidents. We’ll also be performing thrilling adaptations, such as The Third Man, Moonraker, and possibly North By Northwest.

For those of you interested in impacting our broadcast schedule this spring, please vote in our new poll asking which H.P. Lovecraft story you’d like to hear adapted for radio. The options include At the Mountains of Madness, The Call of Cthulhu, The Dunwich Horror, and Herbert West - Reanimator.

We at the Middlebury Radio Theater are committed to making Season 3.5 our best yet. For now, you can enjoy our podcast, but we’ll be back on the air soon, so stay tuned!

Saturday, January 26, 2008: The Middlebury Radio Theater of Thrills and Suspense Second Annual J-Term Spectacular!

Hey, folks! Be sure to tune in on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 7:00 PM Eastern Time for the Second Annual Mr|Tots J-Term Spectacular! A cast of literally tens of performers will be presenting two full hours of quality programing that’s sure to keep you warm on a cold winter night. First you’ll hear Derek Long, Jessie Gurd, and Kofi Appiah in Escape From Robot Planet, the epic sequel to Murder on Venus, featuring Dan Botteron, Alex Revelas, Bill Noble, and Aviva Bannerman. This piece will be writer-director Stefan Claypool’s first live production in over seven months.

Then stay tuned for Jason Gutierrez, Willy McKay, Heather Ward, and Dave Malinsky in The Vampire’s Desire, a vintage script featuring the directorial debut of Nick Smith.

But that’s not all! You won’t want to miss a very special episode of Brookshale, during which many of your lingering questions from season two will be replaced by new questions leading into season three. And we may throw a surprise or two your way as well. Tune in on Saturday for an evening of thrills and suspense that no amount of hyperbole, no matter how overblown, can do justice!

NO Show Tonight (Not Even a Rerun); Production Meeting Sunday at 8PM

Hello all,

We must unfortunately report that there will be no show of any variety tonight, as our time slot has been preempted for Middlebury Men’s Hockey vs. Brockport…tune in for the action, er, sports fans. However, if you must get your Mr|Tots fix, check out the podcast.

Also, this Sunday (as in tomorrow) at 8PM, we’ll be having our first weekly production meeting for the season, in the WRMC studio in Proctor. Bring in any ideas for scripts, segments, formats, etc. and we’ll try and get some of the season planned out in advance. Also, we’ll try and do some training for anyone interested in technical work, directing, etc. See you then!

Happy Holidays!

All the best to you and yours from the Middlebury Radio Theater of Thrills and Suspense. We hoped you enjoyed Season 3.0. The show returns in January for our J-Term Spectacular, and in February tune in for the epic, and, for some of us, final, season 3.5. What you can expect:

- monsters!
- airplanes!
- brain-meltingly good sound effects!
- North by Northwest! We promise!
- at least one script that takes place…in space!
- at least one script that takes place in space…with Nazis!
- and, of course, the triumphant return of American expatriate writer, Stefan Claypool!

Until then, gorge yourself on our podcast! Simply click the “Listen” tab above! Delicious!
