Banned in China!

banned in chinaWhile this probably does not surprise many of our loyal listeners, it has been confirmed that the Middlebury radio theater has been banned in China.

UPDATE: This has got me doing a little investigating into other countries which ban websites, at the moment the list looks as follows:

China: Banned

Iran: Banned

Saudi Arabia: Likely Banned

As Adam said, when the commies start banning you, you know you have achieved your mission.

  • Welcome to the banned-in-China club!

  • Wow. I guess this speaks to our mad skillz rather than our commie-obsession…

  • After 5 and Zombies, and our general obsession with commies, this cannot really come as much of a surprise.

  • Can I just say this is one of the proudest moments of my life? My only regret is that the ban was in effect BEFORE the first episode of “King of China” aired.

Also, taunt the Chinese, but not too much, because I’m in their country and they could kill me and make it look like an accident.

  • Or just shoot you and bill your family for the bullet.

  • from today’s Boston Metro newspaper:
    “China bans undies ads
Beijing: China has banned television and radio ads for push-up bras, figure-enhancing underwear in the communist government’s latest move to purge the nation’s airwaves of what it calls social pollution.
Regulators have already targeted ads using crude or suggestive language, behavior, and images. The new regulations also ban advertisements for sexual aids such as tonics that claim to boost performance in bed.”
    Coincidence? I think not.
Also, I forget, did we claim that Luke Warp Whip was a sexually potent tonic? Hmmm…Maybe there should be a crude and suggestive ad next week for figure-enhancing push-up bras that boost performance in bed. Just to ice the cake.
